Day 23 Outdoor Fun

The puppies are all trucking around pretty well now, with fewer Bobble-Head tumbles.  On Saturday, they enjoyed a free romp after a day in the Xpens, where they explored a bit, met the other dogs (Mirk was indoors because he kept sneaking away to eat chicken food) and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Today it is supposed to rainy and wet, so they will be mostly indoors.

Sorry some are a bit blurry. They were wanting to crawl all over me and I couldn't get a good shot!

3 Weeks Old!

21 days has flown by!

The puppies have had many new experiences over the past couple of days, including their first time outside.  At this age, they don't do much more than roll around and trip on the grass...And sleep.

So, here is a riveting, action-packed video taken from today's outdoor afternoon.

Fen wants so badly to play with them.  Gem is still being very protective, though.  I expect in another week Fen *may* be allowed.

Meanwhile, Grandma Tap stands guard around the Xpen, making sure none of the other dogs (except her) gets too close!  Or maybe she just wants the rubber chicken toy?

Looking for an exit.

Ffat:  "Want OUT!"

Little #1

#3 likes comfort

#4 contemplating Ffat, who appears to be stalking #3, but in reality probably doesn't yet have enough motor skills for such activities.

The puppies have begun to show focus on moving objects, such as a toy shuffled along the floor in front of them, but their paw-eye coordination is still quite abysmal!
And that was about all the action for the time being.  Everyone soon passed out, spilling out of the round bed onto the grass like a cornucopia.

Moving Day!

Today - day 18 - almost 3 weeks old, I moved the puppies down to the dog room (which is also my summer office and our TV room, because it's cooler!)  By the weekend they will be spending some daily time outdoors and also in the barn to get used to all the sounds and goings on of the farm.

Puppies quickly found the "den".

The bed on top of the crate is so Gem can have a rest from her kids.

Tap is convinced she should be the one in there with the babies!  Fen is intrigued, but nearly so much as with the 2008 Tap x Mirk litter.

Uncle Mirk is being a typical guy.  Absolutely no interest in babies.
