The little Gummie Bears now actually resemble canines. Eyes and ears are opening this week and the changes from day to day, even from morning to evening are pretty astounding!
New today: Puppies respond to my "kissy" noises and to "PUPUPUPUP"....Not that they really know where to focus at the moment; but they are aware.
FIRST puppy to have eyes fully open: #3
FIRST puppy to initiate "play": #2 (aka Ffat) with a super WWE move he refers to as the "Now I sit on #1 and bite her toes" move. It's still being perfected, so not ring-worthy yet.
#4 continues to grow prettier and prettier every day and little #1 has finally hit 2 lbs!
In fact, looking at past notes from all the litters born here at Creekside, these little fatties are about the same size as Pat's monsters (Pat x Glen 2004 and 2006) at the same age!
Gem is currently eating about 3.75 lbs of food per day (her normal maintenance amount is 24 oz per day). She'll eat even more next week, peaking about week 3 to week 4, as the puppies begin to eat solid food. I wonder what their first meal will be? Duck? I also have a pig head (halved) in my freezer which could provide endless hours of enjoyment...But I won't post any pictures in case anyone is squeamish ;)
